Responsibilities

  • Evaluate liability, damages, coverage, defenses, and procedural posture.
  • Handle pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, reporting, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, carriers, insureds, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain a disciplined docket and move matters toward cost-effective resolution.
  • Take ownership of assigned matters and keep clients and supervising attorneys informed about deadlines, risk, and next steps.

Required Qualifications

  • Insurance-defense, coverage, general-liability, workers-compensation, or related civil-litigation experience.
  • Clear written reporting and practical case-valuation judgment.
  • Strong deadline, deposition, and case-management habits.
  • Active or eligible state bar admission for the role.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and communicate early when a decision or resource is needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the employer’s practice area, matter type, and local court or transaction process.
  • Comfort using modern legal research, document, case-management, or billing systems.
