Base salary: $260,000 – $420,000+

Employment: Full Time
Work arrangement: Primarily on-site in Austin, TX. Patient hours, call, weekends, and administrative time depend on the care setting.

Day to day, the person in this position will manage acute inpatient care, coordinate safe transitions, and make timely decisions with a multidisciplinary hospital team. Responsibilities
- Evaluate admissions and manage inpatient diagnoses, treatment, and daily clinical decisions.
- Coordinate with specialists, nursing, pharmacy, therapy, case management, and families.
- Respond to changes in patient status and support appropriate escalation of care.
- Complete accurate documentation, handoffs, discharge planning, and follow-up communication.
- Build dependable working relationships with patients, providers, and support staff while meeting documentation and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with active or eligible state licensure.
- Training and board status appropriate for hospital medicine.
- Strong acute-care judgment, communication, documentation, and handoff habits.
- Ability to work effectively within the employer’s census, shift, and coverage model.
- Ability to manage priorities independently and communicate early when a decision or resource is needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a comparable care setting or patient population.
- Current role-specific certifications and familiarity with modern clinical documentation systems.
