Base salary: $270,000 – $430,000+

The successful candidate will manage acute inpatient care, coordinate safe transitions, and make timely decisions with a multidisciplinary hospital team. About the Role

The opportunity should pair a clear block schedule and fair patient load with dependable specialty, nursing, and care-management support. Day to day, the person in this position will manage acute inpatient care, coordinate safe transitions, and make timely decisions with a multidisciplinary hospital team. The team needs someone who can handle a fast interview process, communicate directly, and evaluate the opportunity against New York compensation and commute realities. The interview process will cover team structure, workload, success measures, and advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate admissions and manage inpatient diagnoses, treatment, and daily clinical decisions.
  • Coordinate with specialists, nursing, pharmacy, therapy, case management, and families.
  • Respond to changes in patient status and support appropriate escalation of care.
  • Complete accurate documentation, handoffs, discharge planning, and follow-up communication.
  • Build dependable working relationships with patients, providers, and support staff while meeting documentation and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree with active or eligible state licensure.
  • Training and board status appropriate for hospital medicine.
  • Strong acute-care judgment, communication, documentation, and handoff habits.
  • Ability to work effectively within the employer’s census, shift, and coverage model.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and communicate early when a decision or resource is needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a comparable care setting or patient population.
  • Current role-specific certifications and familiarity with modern clinical documentation systems.
