Base salary: $110,000 – $235,000+

This full-time Probate Litigation Attorney opening in Orange County, CA is with a confidential trusts-and-estates litigation practice. The successful candidate will develop contested estate matters carefully, manage sensitive family dynamics, and move disputes through discovery, resolution, or trial. About the Role

The position offers substantive ownership of complex disputes and room to build a focused probate and fiduciary-litigation practice. Day to day, the person in this position will develop contested estate matters carefully, manage sensitive family dynamics, and move disputes through discovery, resolution, or trial. Orange County candidates should expect an early discussion about office location, commute, workload, compensation, and advancement. The interview process will cover team structure, workload, success measures, and advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate fiduciary conduct, testamentary documents, asset history, standing, damages, and available remedies.
  • Handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Work with beneficiaries, fiduciaries, experts, financial records, and probate-court requirements.
  • Give clients clear advice while maintaining control of deadlines and emotionally charged facts.
  • Take ownership of assigned matters and keep clients and supervising attorneys informed about deadlines, risk, and next steps.

Required Qualifications

  • Probate, trust, fiduciary, estate, or complex civil-litigation experience.
  • Strong writing, discovery, deposition, and case-strategy skills.
  • Judgment with sensitive family, financial, and capacity issues.
  • Active or eligible state bar admission for the role.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and communicate early when a decision or resource is needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the employer’s practice area, matter type, and local court or transaction process.
  • Comfort using modern legal research, document, case-management, or billing systems.
